Motivated by our strong opposition to violence, we aim to help those in attendance learn how to foster a safer environment in their houses of worship.
Additionally, our goal is to help protect community members from becoming victims of violence.
While our focus is on houses of worship, the principles we teach are relevant to anyone concerned about violence and seeking ways to reduce their risk of victimization.
We’ve witnessed the devastating impact of violence on people’s lives ...
Many victims of violence never fully recover from its devastating effects. We know of individuals who, after witnessing violence, found the trauma too overwhelming and tragically took their own lives.
Our ultimate motivation is our LOVE for our fellow human beings. We are strong believers in the Apostle Paul's words from 1 Corinthians 13:7 "Love ... always protects ..."
THIS IS OUR MISSION. THIS IS OUR PURPOSE.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE FULL SUPPORT OF THE CHURCH STAFF (especially the senior pastor). If the staff approves, we MUST speak (by phone - not email) with the senior pastor.
We have conducted conferences where the pastor and staff "allowed" us to come, but did not participate.
We need to know that the senior pastor and staff are committed to this, and understand what we are trying to do: Protect their flock from violence!
The principles we teach have the potential to save people from a life time of pain.
IF POSSIBLE, LET'S HAVE A "ZOOM" MEETING WITH THE STAFF TO DISCUSS THE DETAILS OF THE CONFERENCE.
We have NO desire to be a financial burden to any church.
We prefer to charge an admission price (in the realm of $75). It is our experience that when attendees have to pay, they have some skin in the game. When it is free, many will sign up - but many of those who sign up, will not show up.
We also invite vendors that promote products that are relevant to the conference (security merchandise, radios, medical equipment, etc) We ask the vendors to donate (usually about $750).
If the church wants to make a donation (perhaps one that would cover our lodging) we can reduce the price accordingly.
Please remember; though we see our services as a ministry, this is the way our team members provide for their families.
This, obviously, is very important. When choosing a date, there are certain things to remember.
Please do not choose a date where the conference would conflict with any other activity going on at your house of worship (i.e. Men's Meetings: Women's Meetings, etc.).
Make sure the church schedule is clear for that weekend. Be mindful of other activities going on in your area (college football games, etc).
We once conducted a conference on a Saturday - an hour away from where the University of Alabama was playing a football game; bad call!
We once held a conference at a church in Missouri, and right from the start, they generously donated $6,000. To our surprise, the local sheriff also contributed $6,000. We were taken aback by such kindness.
When we asked why they made such contributions, they shared that the conference was intended to be an “outreach to the local community.” They wanted to show the community that they cared not only about their "spiritual well-being" but also about their "physical well-being"—specifically, protecting them from becoming victims of violence.
In response to their generosity, we lowered the ticket price to $20. The conference turned out to be so successful that one of our speakers was invited by the senior pastor to stay and deliver the Sunday morning sermon.
You can click here to hear the message that was shared at that church.
We can start on a Thursday afternoon, and conclude on Saturday around 12 noon. However, this is not "set in stone."
We can discuss with you (your church) what the schedule would look like. We are very flexible.
Starting in the afternoon has its advantage; it allows attendees to use the morning to make the trip (fly in, drive in, etc) We know of individuals who have traveled well over a thousand miles to get to the conference.
At our first conference, attendees came from Alaska to Florida: from California to Connecticut - and even two foreign countries.
We can also conduct a shorter version of the conference. For example, we can start on Thursday NIGHT, all day Friday (and Friday night) - and conclude by 12 noon on Saturday.
For the most part, this question is decided after we converse by phone and determine what would be best. Again - we are very flexible.
Yes! Thousands of police officers have heard Colonel Grossman's message. He is a favorite among law enforcement.
Other of our speakers are long time police officers, including Officer Greg Stevens. Officer Stevens was awarded the Presidential Medal of Valor for stopping the first known ISIS attack onAmerican soil in May of 2015.
We often ask churches to purchase tickets to the conference for police officers. When tickets are bought in this manner, we contact police departments in the area and and tell them what the church has done for them. It's a unique way of showing support for local police. This has a tremendous impact on law enforcement officers.
No. No. No. Colonel Grossman's message has been heard by many who do not serve in a security role.
I assure you, the members of your church - especially the men - will be "rocked" by his message.
Our presenters are "thunder and lightning." You will go away "on fire," determined to fulfill the role God has given you.
Sometimes a church will keep us over on Sunday and host a "First Responder Appreciation Day." One of our speakers, Jimmy Meeks, is a minister and 35-year retired police officer.
Jimmy has delivered the message on such occasions dozens of times around the country.
We are fanatics about the safety of women. We offer a program to women that emphasizes "Situational Awareness."
We have conducted women's safety seminars all across America. We usually conduct the seminar a day or two before the major conference.
We also try to help local women's shelters. We will ask attendees to bring items that can be donated to the shelter (that's their "Admission price.")
