OUR SPEAKER (AND TOPICS TO BE COVERED)

JIMMY MEEKS

Jimmy is a retired police officer, having served 35 years in law enforcement. He has also been a minister for over 53 years.

He has conducted almost 500 church safety seminars across the country.

He is the founder of Sheepdog Seminars.

As an officer, he served as a hostage negotiator, field training officer, school resource officer, detective, supervisor, and crime prevention officer. He has accumulated over 4500 hours of TCOLE training. He was also a certified crime prevention specialist.

Jimmy served as pastor of a church in the Ft. Worth area for over 11 years (while also serving as a police officer). He has a B.A. in Religion from Oklahoma Baptist University and a Certificate of Ministry from Emmaus Road Ministry School.

Jimmy has also served as a "missionary" to police officers, visiting departments across the nation, encouraging the officers. He has "shown up" at roll calls across the nation (Chicago, Spokane, Minneapolis, Denver, Seattle, and many others). He's often the guest speaker at Law Enforcement Appreciation Day services held in churches nationwide. He always shares the same message: The Heart of the Father. (CLICK HERE TO HEAR THE MESSAGE HE SHARES).

Jimmy and his wife of 48 years, Julie, were married at the First Baptist Church of Daingerfield, Texas, the site of the June 22, 1980 massacre that killed 5 - and injured 10 (during a morning worship service).

Jimmy was a production assistant in the award-winning docudrama Faith Under Fire, based on the tragedy at First Baptist Church in Daingerfield, Texas.

Jimmy is also a member of the City Council in his municipality.

We will cover the topics relevant to those who serve on their church safety team. The following is a sample...

  • Stopping the active shooter
  • Sex Crimes Prevention
  • How to form a church safety team
  • Who to put on the team
  • De-escalation Techniques
  • WHERE to station your team on Sunday mornings
  • What to do FIRST (when you arrive at your church on Sunday morning)
  • The laws of self defense
  • What to do if you use deadly force.

AND MUCH MORE

Attend this seminar and let us show you how to have a better chance of stopping violence at your house of worship.

And ... we highly encourage you to have ALL of your children's workers attend (Youth Director, Children's Minister, etc). We will address the issue of sex crimes which, unfortunately, are a common occurrence in churches and church-related settings.
